Optivisor Advice Please?

Hi guys and gals,

I've been looking at the 'Optivisors' on amazon and i'm a bit befuddled as to what is good quality and what is not!

Can anyone recommend any of the following:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=optivisor

Any help in this matter would be appreciated :)

Darrell.

  1. Hey Darrell
I'm using this one for two years now:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Headband-Headset-Jeweler-Magnifier-Magnifying/dp/B009O5T3FU/ref=sr_1_14/278-9844240-8986310?ie=UTF8&qid=1427962892&sr=8-14&keywords=optivisor
I also took the lenses at an ophthalmologist friend and told me that its OK to use.
On the plus side, since it has two parallel slots, you can combine two different lenses,
    Hope I've helped

    1. Thanks Andreas.

I've just looked it up. does it have variable lenses? If so, what's the maximum magnification? Do they come with the whole package?

      Cheers,
      Darrell.

  2. I've looked it up, There are four lenses with x1.2-x1.8-x2.5-x3.5 magnification
The only problem is that it doesn't work well if you have a big nose!!!!!!
I have also slipped a cut of from a head sweatband in the front part of the adjustable head ring for those hellish Greek summers ,and snapped off the LED light. (it tangles with my desk lamp)
    Cheers

    1. Thanks for that. I've just come back from a lovely meal with my Sister who was up from London and my folks :>)

Seriously though, it is appreciated. Looks very much like the I will go for the one you have suggested.

      Darrell.

  3. Save the money and do what I did - buy a pair of 3.5 magnification reading glasses in the library.for £10. Proper glass lenses and you don't look like a character from Blade Runner! Simples!

    1. Won't they damage your eyes long term? I'm thinking of getting prescription reading glasses, that way my eyes are not locked in a mortal duel against one another. That's what I've heard, on good authority, causes the most damage to eyes other than the natural aging process.
