I've just looked at their Newsletter and I'm over the moon about these!!

"Michael has been working on a box of plastic Afghan/North West Frontier tribesmen for a few months, to oppose the British infantry already available. These will be produced after Alan's Napoleonic Austrian cavalry are released. There will be ten different torsos and a large variety of arms and heads and will include a few Brown Bess and Sniders as well as jezails. There will be enough sword arms to equip all with them if you wish and the box will contain 36 tribesmen including command. There's no release date as yet."

I can now concentrate on collecting the Afghan Regulars and not worry too much about the 'Tribesmen', of course there will be a good sprinkling of the metals on the bases too!!

I really love the posing of the three ups we see here.

I'm looking forward to seeing what is possible with other variations on the torsos. I guess the crouched torsos will have to remain just that.

Supreme Littleness Designs Fortress

Have a gander at this! What theatre of war would you use this with?

This model is a 28mm version from Supreme Littleness Designs and is a corker. I can think of so many different theatres of war that trhis  could be used in. My own preference would be for the North West Frontier and the Second Afghan War. I think comes with a stove, ladder, work bench, table and bench as well as with 'render powder' which should give a texture similar to the image below (also from Supreme Littleness Designs):

It is available form 4Ground at the and of this month.

I'm back! Again! Is there anybody still out there?

Hi folks,

No nice pics for the moment as I've been very busy with both my parents being very ill. I don't think I've picked up a brush in a few years!! i'm now sorting a new studio which sounds simple right? not so! you should know better as a wargamer/miniature collector!! We hoard, not just miniatures and paints but just stuff. Yeah, stuff. The type of thing where you end up raiding the local Lidl stores surroundings because they have just the right sort of wooden chip to make excellent realistic rocks!

Anyway, I'm currently sorting all of the studio out- which includes putting miniatures back in the correct boxes (a very disheartening task) and sorting out all of the other gumph.

This is really a long winded way of saying that I have returned to the hobby and soon will be painting again so watch this space. That is, if people still tend to gander at Blogs?

Cheers.

Shooting Leave and Just Add Water Blog Amalgamation

Hi,

This will be the final post for the Shooting Leave Blog.

It's not that I've suddenly stopped being interested in Colonial gaming, far from it in fact, especially with the new Iron Duke Indian Mutiny Sepoy releases by Empress Miniatures!!

I've just decided that it would be easier and more compact to have the blog amalgamated with my Just Add Water Blog which, for those of you who may not be aware of you can find HERE!

My La Journee Blog and Gewalthaufen Blogs will continue to deal with the HYE ear and the Late C15 to early C16 warfare respectively.

Cheers.

Urgently Wanted; 4th/5th Edition Bretonnians for Bodkin's Second Day Out Demo Game!

Hi guys and gals,

I'm urgently in need of the following 4th or 5th Edition Bretonnian models, I forgot which edition they actually were(?).

They are for the next Bodkin's Day Out in Terms of Demo Games so they will be well used and will not be sold on to make petty profit! I cannot reveal the name of the battle nor am I able to confirm any ideas you guys and gals may have. you'll have to wait and see. It will almost certainly be at Partizan next year and will be a real sight to behold just as the last game was which was held at The Other Partizan to be held at Kelham Hall.

Pics of the game can be seen HERE!

Here are the pics of the miniatures I'm looking for. I don't mind paying for them at all but I'm not going to pay silly amounts of money for the mini's. I hope I don't sound like I'm blowing my own trumpet too much but it should be enough to know that they are going to be painted up and be taking their rightful place in as beautiful game that Dave Andrews, David Imrie, Simon Chick, Matthew Bickley, Andrew Taylor and myself can ,manage.

Here they are:

Thanks for reading folks.
